The Principality has become a leading financial and banking center that provides an extensive range of financial services for businesses as well as a range of wealth management services.

The MFIN takes full advantage of the University's location in the Principality of Monaco. IUM students are often in contact with fund managers, wealth managers, investors, traders, and analysts who reside in the Principality or attend IUM-sponsored international conferences and guest lectures. Monaco also hosts the three biggest hedge fund conferences, as well as being home to some of the best-known private banks in the world.

The student body is very multi-national; the current program has 28 students with 19 different nationalities.
